Writers of Kern joins forces with Barnes & Noble on Sunday, December 8, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 4001 California Avenue, Bakersfield, CA. “WOK” invites members and the general public to shop for gifts in a way that supports the club: Banes & Noble donates a percentage of net proceeds from sales that day (instore ad online) to WOK’s projects and programs.

Dickens Not Far Behind
Looking ahead to the Riverside Dickens Festival, February 22-23, 2020, where CWC-South will have a booth and essay-writing workshop, the East Sierra Branch will hold its annual Dickens Tea on Saturday, December 7, in the My Enchanted Cottage Victorian Tea Room in Ridgecrest, CA, starting at 2:00 p.m. The event features a dramatic Dickens reading, Yuletide crafts, book exchange with free books provided, tea and bread pudding. Beginning December 1 and throughout the month, East Sierra will curate a Dickens display in the Ridgecrest Branch Library of the Kern County Library System. For details, visit CWC-ridgewriters.org.
