Welcome to the Writers Showcase! We are a regional group of California Writers Club ® branches in Southern California, from Long Beach and Orange County to the Inland Empire and the East Sierra.  This website is a showcase of work by our member authors, including poems, essays, humor, short stories, fiction and memoir to read online. Our member authors share creative writing tips and writing ideas to provide insight and inspiration. You will also find news from our branches, interviews with published authors, and lists of local writing events and conferences to keep you up to date. We change our content regularly, so please bookmark our site and make a habit of coming back. Enjoy!

So You Want To Be Part of an Anthology by Jenna Elizabeth Johnson

Q:

So you want to be in an anthology?

A:

First, if you wish to put together a good anthology, start looking for authors who write in your genre or write stories similar to the one you want to showcase. Next, decide on a deadline for the first draft, final draft, date when you plan to release the set, etc. This helps keep everyone on track. Thirdly, send out an invitation via email. Let the authors know what you are planning and how many other authors you’d like to feature. This can be relatively informal at this point, but still friendly and inviting.   MORE
