Coastal Dunes Branch Hosts
Local Authors Fair
Sunday, March 18, 2018

Members of SLO Nightwriters, Sisters and Crime, and CWC’s Coastal Dunes Branch met on Sunday, March 18, at Trilogy in Nipomo. Food and champagne were served. At least 100 people attended, and many of the 25 authors from the region sold books. Authors paid a $50 donation to the Friends of the Library for their table, a tax-deductible expense. According to organizer and Coastal Dunes member Catherine Kitcho, “My goal in planning this was to showcase all the writing talent in our area. We used the ‘ballroom’ at Trilogy, a gorgeous room, for the fair that was given as a benefit for the Friends of Nipomo Library.” A common reaction from participants: “We’ve never seen such a classy venue for an authors’ fair.”

Coastal Dunes CWC was one of the official sponsors of the event, along with Monarch Radio 107.9 (Kitcho interviewed authors beforehand ), and the Chapter Two Book Club at Trilogy (Kitcho’s counterpart in planning the event).
