I Want To Feel Safe

I Want to Feel Safe
By Janis Kunz, East Sierra Branch

A high percentage of teens and adolescents are victims of cyberbullying every day.

The words haunt me.

They follow me around.

They are in my home,

In the palm of my hand.

They are in my mind.

I can’t avoid them.

The voices say things that

I didn’t think were true.

But now I believe it.

And now I hate myself.

I want to stop reading.

I want to stop listening.

I want to tell someone.

I don’t want to tell someone.

I want the hurting to stop.

I want the pain to stop.

I want to go back.

I want to move on.

I want to scream.

I want to lash out.

I want to cry.

But most of all…

I want to feel safe.
